Inclusive MAT are founding members of the National PedTech Partnership

We’re proud to share that our Trust is a founding member of the newly launched National PedTech Partnership—a pioneering alliance of schools and education leaders committed to advancing equitable, high-impact teaching and learning through a pedagogy-first approach to digital tools.
Co-founded by national education leaders Dr Fiona Aubrey-Smith and John Murphy, the Partnership brings together over 756 schools, reaching more than 250,000 students and 22,000 staff across the country. This includes state, independent, special, alternative provision, and nursery-to-sixth form schools.
Backed by a two-year research programme, fully funded by participating schools, the Partnership aims to:
* Explore how schools can better measure the impact of digital strategies.
* Share practical insights on what works in teaching and learning with technology.
* Empower schools to make more informed and equitable decisions about digital investment.
The research will cover a wide range of themes, including:
* Curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment
* SEND, inclusion, and oracy
* AI and emerging technologies
* Family and community engagement
* The evolving role of educators and learners in a digital age
James shared his personal motivation for joining the initiative:
“I was in the first class at my school to get a BBC computer back in 1985—that early exposure showed me how technology can be a true equaliser. At Inclusive MAT, many of our learners face real barriers. Whether it’s adaptive tech for SEND pupils or building future-ready digital skills, this work is about making sure every child benefits—not just the lucky few.”
Why This Matters for Us
Being part of the National PedTech Partnership means we’ll be:
* Contributing to national research that reflects our realities
* Accessing exclusive findings, tools, and reports
* Helping shape how digital learning evolves across the UK education system
We’ll keep staff updated as our work with the Partnership progresses. For now, we’re excited to be part of this bold, collaborative step forward—where pedagogy leads the way.
