We are seeking that special someone to join our team.  Are you dedicated to ensuring school works for all children and resilient enough to keep going, even when it’s difficult?  Then we have the role for you, supporting a Yr 6 child 1-1 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties to succeed in education.  You will require patience, flexibility and be committed to helping children develop as independent and confident individuals.

This support role is part time until July 2020 or earlier, if the child leaves the school before the end of Year 6. The hours are 9.30am to 3.30pm five days a week with an hour lunch break (total of 25 hours).

Cherry Tree School is a friendly place to work. We are part of the Inclusive Multi Academy Trust which was established in 2016 with a vision to Inspire and nurture our children and their community to be the very best that they can be.  The Trust consists of three schools; Beechfield, Cherry Tree and Laurance Haines.  Our nurturing Trust ethos places a strong emphasis of the development and wellbeing of staff.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will be able to work closely with the class teacher, the SENCo, the SEN team and external advisors.  You should be keen to learn, be able to work on your own initiative, and carry out advice consistently.

The successful candidate will have a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths and a high standard of written and spoken English.

In return we offer the successful candidate:

  • A positive and caring working environment
  • A friendly, dedicated, and supportive staff team
  • A well-resourced working environment
  • A strong commitment to CPD with quality mentoring and development support
  • A healthcare plan which includes private medical care as well as well-being care, physiotherapy, stress counselling and lifestyle health screening days

A visit to the school is encouraged prior to our interview day. Please contact Sandra O’Keeffe on 01923 245490 to arrange a visit.

Cherry Tree School operates robust safeguarding procedures. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible as the school reserves the right to close the advert early should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
